Chocolate Dirt Pudding with Worms (Printable Version)

Creamy chocolate pudding layered with crushed cookies and gummy worms for a fun, no-bake treat.

# What You'll Need:

→ Pudding Layer

01 - 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
02 - 2 cups cold milk
03 - 1 cup whipped topping, thawed

→ Cookie Dirt

04 - 18 chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed

→ Decorations

05 - 12 gummy worms

# How To Make It:

01 - Whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk in a large mixing bowl for 2 minutes until mixture thickens considerably.
02 - Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding mixture until fully incorporated and texture becomes smooth and creamy.
03 - Process chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor until finely crushed to resemble dirt, or place cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with rolling pin.
04 - Spoon a layer of cookie crumbs into the bottom of 6 serving cups. Add a layer of chocolate pudding mixture. Repeat layers, ending with a generous topping of cookie crumbs to completely cover the pudding surface.
05 - Decorate each cup by pressing 2 gummy worms into the cookie crumb topping, positioning them so they appear to crawl out of the dirt.
06 - Refrigerate assembled desserts for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld and pudding to set properly before serving.

  • Over-whipping the pudding mixture makes it weirdly dense, so stop once everything is just incorporated
  • The dirt layer needs to be thick enough on top to completely cover the chocolate or the illusion falls apart
03 -
  • Set up a topping bar at parties and let guests add their own worms, sprinkles, or crushed candy
  • Individual portions mean everyone gets the same amount of dirt-to-pudding ratio
