01 - Combine strawberries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Heat gently for 2-3 minutes until strawberries soften and release their juices. Let cool completely, then blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer a seedless puree.
02 - In a cocktail shaker or large glass, combine the cooled strawberry puree, cold milk, and heavy cream. Stir or shake vigorously until thoroughly incorporated and frothy.
03 - Divide ice cubes evenly between two tall glasses, filling each about one-third full.
04 - Pour the strawberry cream mixture evenly over the ice in both glasses, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top.
05 - Slowly pour the cold brewed espresso or coffee over the back of a spoon to create a distinct layered effect. The coffee should float on top of the strawberry cream mixture.
06 - Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream and fresh strawberry slices if desired. Serve immediately with long stirrers so guests can mix the layers before drinking.
